BOOKING US
There is certain information required on both sides when booking the band. This is for organisational purposes and to let both parties know what is expected.
1. The setup of the room, ie. roughly how big it is (it needs to be large enough to accommodate and band of this size, if in doubt, ask us), where the stage is in relation to the length of the room. The size of the function room will be one of the pre-determining factors as to which size of band you can have (the other factor is your budget).
2. We will need to know about access to the venue – are there stairs? A parking space beside door of venue?
3. We need to have access to the function room usually mid to late afternoon. This is for your own benefit more than ours. If we can get in in the afternoon before the guests come into the function room and be set up for then, it means we are ready to go when the evening time comes. It also allows us to set up without rushing and if any small gremlin sets in, we have time to fix it instead of running around with no time to spare, making the evening run late and the band being stressed into the bargain. We will liaise with you as to the best time for access. We take between 1 and 2 hours in order to set up and soundcheck all equipment, depending on size of band booked and ease of access. We need access to at least three mains electric sockets.
4. Please note prices quoted are for a midnight finish for weddings. Functions finishing later than midnight will be subject to an additional "by the hour" charge. Scottish weddings are 3 x 45 min sets between 8pm and midnight, with integrated disco. Corporate and Charity functions are 2 x 1 hour sets between 10pm and 1am.
5. The approximate number of guests attending the function. This again will help in determining which size of band will be most suitable for the function room.
6. We are a professional standard showband and as such we have up to three changes of stage costume. We will require a lockable room, preferably with washing facilities available to the band from mid afternoon (after equipment has been set up and soundchecked) in order for the band to relax away from the function guests and prepare for the show. Also to hang up stage costumes. It could be the band will be in this room for up to 5 hours before the show starts, so it needs to be comfortable and big enough for all the band members and crew. Toilets / store cupboards or the like are NOT an acceptable option.
7. If it is a wedding and you have a special first song, we will need advance notice in order to put the song together and rehearse it. It would be ideal if you could let us know the song at the time of booking, or shortly after. We normally require advance notice of the song by at least 3 months to slot it into our rehearsal schedule.
8. Price will be negotiated at time of booking. A non-returnable deposit will be required at the time of booking for weddings. The balance must be paid as either cash prior to performance on the day or by cheque two weeks ahead of the wedding.
9. In the event of cancellation, a cancellation charge will be levied (terms will be in the contract).
ONCE THE BOOKING IS CONFIRMED (BY PAYING DEPOSIT TO CONFIRM), THE DATE WILL BECOME UNAVAILABLE TO ANY OTHER PARTY. AT THIS POINT, WE WILL CLOSELY LIAISE WITH YOU IN THE DAYS AND MONTHS LEADING UP TO THE EVENT AS WELL AS ON THE DAY ITSELF.
10. Atlantic Soul when booked is hired to PERFORM for you and your guests. Please do not ask to use/borrow/hire any of our equipment, inc drums, bass, amps, guitar, PA, mics. We are not insured for anyone using our equipment so therefore will refuse any request to do so.
