THE BAND !
We are a highly professional showband with a truly knock out package. Up to three girls front the band, and the band is available to book from a 7pc down to a duo, to suit all size venues and all budgets. The show is fully costumed and choreographed and is totally unique to Scotland. We cover the whole of Scotland, the North of England and can travel further south depending on the circumstances.

"Sensational", "Gutsy", "Brilliant", "Sexy", "Outstanding" are just some of descriptives used for Atlantic Soul's Supreme Soul Sisters, lead and choreographed by Scotland's own unmatched first lady of soul, Ms B, ably assisted by the talented and stunning Pauline.
Mr Soul himself (or John as we know him) is the very talented male lead and harmony vocalist and keyboard player as well as being the band's M.D., arranger and soul historian. What he don't know about it ain't worth knowin. Recent credits also include commissions from "The Paul O'Grady Show" to write and arrange music for features that have aired recently on Channel 4.
You have 3 lead vocals (one male, two females) and other backing vocals and provided by guitarist, giving 4 vocals in all. The girls are backed supremely by up to six of the best musicians currently active in Scotland. All bar two are music graduates, and ALL musicians and singers have being playing private and corporate functions, weddings and the live circuit in Scotland for many years, in demand by other bands and musicians for sessions and gigs and who obviously are very experienced, knowledgeable and skillful in their chosen profession - music. We can also boast 4 professional music tutors amongst our ranks, so as you can see, music is they way the band members in Atlantic Soul earn their professional living. You are getting the real deal by choosing to book professional, reliable and experienced musicians who, as the saying goes "walk the walk".

Atlantic Soul is a fully scaleable sized band to suit all size venues and budgets. The band can perform in all formats from an 7pc right down to a duo. We have been known on one-off occasions to scale upwards and have also performed as a 9 and 10pc band, although we have a "core" sized band for different sized events/functions:
Small functions: The core band for smaller weddings and functions is the duo or trio setup
Medium to large functions: The core band for medium to large weddings and functions is the 4pc, 5pc or 6pc setup. 5pc and 6pc is completely live band setup utilising live drums and bass. The 4pc is more compact and saves space using sequenced drums and bass but uses the same live musicians and singers as is in the larger-scale band.
Larger-scale events: The core band for Corporate Events and larger-scale events, eg. Festivals, Balls, Award Ceremonies, etc is the full band setup
Remember though, any size band can be booked depending on size of venue and budget available.

Note - For ALL sizes of band, Atlantic Soul has £10 Million of Public Liability Insurance cover and all equipment is PAT Tested and certified for electrical safety.
All of Atlantic Soul's electrical equipment has been PAT Tested and certified. This is not by law but by choice, for your safety. Atlantic Soul also carries £10M of Public Liability Insurance, again, not because we have to, but because we go over and above what is required for the comfort and safety of the band and our clients. Most professional hotels providing a good service will have this requirement already and eventually all bands will have to comply with it. You know you are in professional hands with Atlantic Soul where your comfort, peace of mind and, most importantly, SAFETY is paramount. Don't put yourself in the position of booking a hobby band out to make a few bucks on the weekend with inferior, and potentially UNSAFE equipment. If you are considering booking "just a band" you may end up regretting it when your venue contacts you a week before your wedding asking for certification from your entertainment, only to find that they don't have any and therefore won't be allowed to play. BAND OPTIONS AVAILABLE
2pc lineup - Live keyboards, utilising state-of-the-art backing either live, sequenced or midi. Both male and female lead vocals, both vocalists also sing harmonies. Music played is completely "across the board" and each function is tailored to the specific audience. All music genres covered from ballads, rock, soul, pop, country, reggae, big-band, motown, chart, 40's to modern, etc. Suitable for smaller functions where space or budget is premium.
3pc lineup - same as 2pc line, with the addition of either sax player or guitarist. The guitar player also provides backing vocals. In this lineup, tendency to lean towards live or sequenced backing tracks, giving a more live vibe with more freedom to improvise. Suitable for small to medium functions where space is premium but with the added live musician and live vibe.
4pc lineup - same as 3pc lineup with the addition of the other musician (If 3pc includes guitar, then add sax. If 3pc includes sax, then add guitarist). The guitarist also provides backing vocals. The 4pc lineup is the most versatile lineup of all of the choices, as it encompasses all music genres but is, with the utilisation of sequenced drums and bass, what is being played and sung on the night is totally live by the same musicians as in the bigger size band. The Atlantic Soul (bigger band setup) set can be performed, or a mixture of this with other types of music or indeed a whole night of a mixture of music. Completely live but tailored to the audience, without the huge space needed for the bigger setup of drum kit, bigger PA etc.
5pc lineup - this is the smallest 100% live band setup. Live drums, bass, keys/male lead vocals and harmony vocals, guitar/harmony vocals & female lead & harmony vocals. Very tight smaller live combo, suitable for medium sized functions, or those on a tighter budget than the full size band.
6pc lineup - same as the 5pc lineup, with the addition of an EITHER additional female lead and harmony vocalist OR female sax player. This is our most popular live lineup, usually including the extra female vocalist, which gives it the extra dynamics both vocally and visually, with the addition of choreographed dance routines into the show as well as custom-made costumes. Very professional and sounds just like the record!
7pc lineup - Same as the 5pc lineup, but includes both the extra female singer and also the live brass with our female sax player. Very professional live lineup suitable for medium to large scale functions.
8pc and upward - The band can scale upward if required. We have another female vocalist for larger functions to give 3 girls out front (4 if you include the sax). We can also provide a live 2 or 3pc brass section for large scale corporate functions. Bear in mind, this is not a cheap option, but it is definitely fabulous, professional, in-yer-face live music at its best - an outstanding live show suitable for corporate events and large scale functions.
