Atlantic
Soul Show Band is a truly unique Function Band in
Scotland. The band is made up of the cream of
Scotland's top professional musicians, each having many years of experience under his/her belt playing in
Scotland and abroad in a variety of professional corporate
and charity ball engagements.
Atlantic
Soul Showband performs the whole spectrum of dance music
from the 50’s through to present day chart hits, as well
as classic soul, motown and disco. Everything from Sinatra
to Lady Gaga and everything in between.
"Sensational",
"Gutsy", "Brilliant",
"Outstanding" are just some of descriptives used
for Atlantic Soul's "Fabulous
Wonder Lungs", the two
sensational female vocalists who front the band.
Mr
Soul himself (or John as we know him) is the very talented
male lead and harmony
vocalist and keyboard
player as well as being the
band's MD, arranger and soul historian. What he don't know
about it ain't worth knowin. Recent credits also include
commissions from "The Paul O'Grady Show" to
write and arrange music for features that have aired
recently on Channel 4.
You
have 3 lead vocals (one male, two females) and other
backing vocals and provided by our guitarist,
drummer and bass player, giving 6 vocals in all.
The
girls out front are backed supremely by 5 of the best
musicians currently active in Scotland. All bar two are
music graduates and we can also boast 4 professional music
tutors amongst our ranks. Returning to Scotland in
2010 after an extended period playing abroad and gigging
with some of the artists whose songs we cover is our
phenomenal bass player Jamie.
And sitting right in the pocket of the groove with Jamie
is our long-time outstanding drummer
and percussionist Martin, a
better drummer in Scotland you will not find.
And
last, but definitely not least, our groove-meisters and
soloists in the shape of the stunning and beautiful Dionne
on funky tenor sax
and our newest recruit to the band, the fantastic Scott on
lead and rhythm guitar.
Atlantic
Soul Show Band is fully scaleable in size and is available
to book in a multiple of configurations. Corporate and
Charity Ball Function clients normally favour the larger
band sizes we offer with smaller corporate affairs
utilising the service of the 5 piece or 6 piece size band.
However, the full 7 piece band is the choice of 90% of our
Corporate and Charity Ball clients.
